There's nothing more challenging than designing a creative space for creatives. Work Labs is a powerhouse of problem-solvers – the agency that other agencies (like Ogilvy & Mather, for instance) go to for creative. And they needed a space where they were free to come up with their next big idea.
Since their existing space had an industrial feel, our theme became “working man meets creative.” We used recycled sign posts for desk legs. The conference table was made of breeze blocks and a concrete top. The conference room wall was built in place, and the conference room door was hung by a garage door company. Vintage GoodForm chairs were used throughout the space. The workspaces and shelving units were built from plywood and other discarded materials.
