Excited to see the newest @ramentatsu_ya concept drop - we’re already craving it. Details below via Domo Alley-Gato Tatsu-Ya: . Cat’s out of the bag! Introducing our newest concept, @domoalleygatotatsu_ya! 🐱 . Located in the outdoor patio space next to Ramen Tatsu-Ya Comal (1600 East 6th Street, Austin TX 78702), Domo Alley-Gato Tatsu-Ya will soft open with discounted food items December 8, 9 and 12, from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. It will grand open on Thursday, December 13. . Domo Alley-Gato Tatsu-Ya will transport you to the vibrant, buzzing nightlife found in Japan’s biggest cities. The space draws inspiration from tachinomiya, or standing bars, and yokocho, meaning “alleyways off to the side of a main street” in Japanese. Generally found close to major commuter rail stations, tachinomiya are perfect spots to end the day or warm up for a night out, offering a lively environment for mingling, imbibing, and eating. . “We wanted to create an immersive environment where people can relax, enjoy unique drinks and food, and feel as if they stumbled into the back alleys of Tokyo,” said Tatsu Aikawa (@tatsu512). . We worked with our homies @mccrayandco to transform the space into a Tokyo alley. You’ll be beckoned through the entrance by the warm glow of colorful lanterns and a towering Lucky Cat shrine created by @bluegenieartindustries. Just like our tachinomiya and yokocho influence, you can find standing bar areas and covered alcove booth seating along the perimeter of the space. . We are all about introducing you to authentic Japanese soul food, so Domo Alley-Gato’s kitchen, known as Karē Ban Ban, focuses on a unique, painstakingly created 23-spice Japanese curry. You can find classic dishes like katsu curry as well as unique curry-inspired dishes like curry pan hot dogs, curry wings, and more. .
